Given the large performance differences between a Junior Rotax and the JICA/ ROK powered karts, what would be an acceptable MAW for the latter engines?
With the Rotax's at 140kg, maybe the ROK's & JICA's need to run at something like 148-150kg to give the Rotax some parity? _________________ You win some, lose some & wreck some! |

| They are trying to get rid of rok and JICA motors from formula junior and only have the rotax and the new CIK motors. |

Maybe thats their way of dealing with the performance difference the different engines have in this class? _________________ You win some, lose some & wreck some! |

Hey Phil
If you think that there is a parity problem now, wait until the KF3 engines start arriving. They are were 2 tenths faster than the JICA motors when tested in Europe. Just a shame about the $5,500 price tag.
As the Formula Junior (Baby food???) class is NZ's most important development class, surely it would be reasonable to see some urgency in getting this class sorted - preferably without junking perfectly good ROK and PRD motors and letting the JICA motors fade away through wear and tear rather than expiring due to a date set on a calander.
The newer Jmax engines appear to be a lot faster than the older ones though - anyone know how they are different? |
